Lyckås Observatory
For one and a half year now I have been working on my own observatory. This is a dream that I have had almost as long as this hobby has been a part of my life. Finally in the spring of 2022 it is up and running and with this presentation film I give you a glimse of how i looks like and the different functions.
Finally the eagle has landed 🙂 …hope you enjoy it!

Transit of Mercury
This is a movie produced from the spectacular Mercury transit in May 2016.
We put up our equipment on our usual spot for astrophotography on Ekerö and shot repeatedly every 5 minute for about 5 hours to get the timelapse sequence below. The weather was staggering good all day, and we enjoyed every second of a real astronomy moment 🙂
To produce the film we used a Lunt LS60THa solar telescope to capture several sequences through Firecapture. Then the sequences were stacket in Autostakkert and the resulting pictures was processed in Photoshop to in the end form the final sequence…
We also rigged a couple of other cameras to capture the event from a social perspective.
The first film is a short version with focus almost exclusively at the transit sequence.

The other film is a longer version with a lot of material around the whole event.

Spring stars – Two nights at Ekerö
This is a timelapse movie produced during our last astronomy session at Ekerö. We put up the cameras as soon as we got there and photographed ourselves during several hours as a little experiment and also to show people what this hobby is all about when we are practising it. As the heading indicates the movie includes two nights (13th and 14th of March), so that´s the reason for the telescopes shifting place during the film.
To produce the film we used a total of two cameras rigged at different angels and positions:
– One Nikon D5100 with 18-200mm zoom lens
– One GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition

We edited and processed the film in Adobe Premiere Elements 13, and here is the result…

Sky and Telescopes – Amateur astronomy between 2002-2014
It has been quite a journey through the years with this hobby. This is a presenting slideshow of my and Jakob’s experiences and accomplishments between 2002 and 2014. Some things I am quite proud of and some (like the building of the observatory) are just depressing to think of!

However… there are quite a few pictures and movie-clips and we put it all together in Adobe Premiere Elements 13. Here is the result…

Camping by Mälaren
In July 2014 me and Jakob went camping on Adelsö outside Stockholm. The goal for the trip (besides just having a nice time) was to produce a timelapse movie. The weather and the water temperature was almost perfect.
To produce the film we used a total of four cameras rigged at different angels and positions:
– One Canon EOS 600D with fisheye lens
– One Nikon D5100 with 18-200mm zoom lens
– Two different GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition

We edited and processed the film in Cyberlink PowerDirector 12, and here is the result…
